PARACHINAR: The sit-in protest against the five-month-long road closures in the Kurram district continued for the fourth consecutive day outside the Parachinar Press Club. Demonstrators demand immediate route reopening and a relief package for the 500,000 residents suffering from the prolonged blockade.
The protest resumed after being temporarily suspended last month following government assurances, which, according to protesters, were not fulfilled. Social activists, including Malik Zartaj, Musarrat Bangash, Agha Sarfaraz, Jalal Bangash, and Inayat Lala, vowed to continue the sit-in until the roads are reopened and relief is provided. They warned that protests would be expanded to rural areas, with further road blockades if the issue remains unresolved.

Trade Union President Haji Imdad Ali reported that after a 15-day gap, 113 vehicles carrying essential goods have reached the affected areas. However, he stressed that over 1,000 truckloads of supplies are urgently needed.
Meanwhile, social activist Mir Afzal Khan highlighted the continued shortage of gas and fuel, which has paralyzed daily life. He urged the government to restore fuel supplies and ensure the safe reopening of all blocked routes to prevent further humanitarian suffering.
